Kidney
The kidney is a vital organ in our bodies, shaped like beans and located on either side of the spine, deep within the lower back. We have two kidneys. Their main job is to filter our blood, removing waste products and excess substances, like salt and water, which then become urine. They also help regulate important things in our body like electrolytes, which are minerals like sodium and potassium. Additionally, the kidneys play a crucial role in controlling blood pressure and producing certain hormones that help with things like red blood cell production. Taking care of our kidneys by staying hydrated and maintaining a balanced diet is important for overall health. If our kidneys aren't working well, we can get medical help to support their function.
